Valentine Fling 2008

The 2008 Valentine's Fling was a complete success!

Held at the Hyatt Regency Denver Tech Center; guests dined on roast baron of beef with all the trimmings. Some tasty appetizers were passed while guests studied the many items up for bid on either, the Live Auction, Silent Auction and the ever-popular Fishbowl Raffles. The Nacho Men as usual put on a terrific show getting almost everyone up dancing.

The live Auction Items that had the most action were the Mazatlan Condo vacations, the African Safari, the character in the next Stuart Woods novel and the signed violin with all the signatures from the Trans Siberian Orchestra. Denise Plante surprised us with a signed jersey from Joe Sakic, and of course, the 10 pound Nestle' Crunch bar always gets lots of interest!

Almost everyone got in the act with the over fifty fishbowl raffle items. Most of the hotel packages drew the most entries, but the Lancome gift basket did surprisingly well.

Everyone went home happy, full and feeling pretty good about themselves because they helped Project Safeguard raise over $34,000 in the fight against domestic violence.
