Valentine's Fling 2009

Saturday, February 14, 2009

After surveying past attendees of the Fling, it was decided to actually have the Valentine's Fling on Valentine's Day-what a concept!! The vast majority of responses felt that would make the event even more special. They also felt that the event should not move to downtown, so we will once again be in the Denver Tech Center. However, the 2009 Valentine's Fling will be at the Denver Marriott Tech Center.

The 2009 version of the Fling will once again feature the Nacho Men, and we will have both Murphy and Denise from the KOSI morning show. As usual we will have some great items to bid on including the African Safari, Mexico Condo Vacations, Airline Tickets and Hotel Packages.

Tickets will be available online soon with past attendees getting "Early Bird" opportunities to purchase at deep discounts. Companies, organizations, and individuals wanting to help by buying a table will be given special recognition.

If you know of anyone that would like to donate some interesting items or services for the auctions or fish bowl raffles, please give Bill Donovan a call at 303-773-2900. There is no item too big or too small.

This once again, Project Safeguard will provide volunteers for one of Colorado's oldest motorcycle events, The 22nd Annual Ladies Run. This event starts at Hampden & Kipling at 7:30 AM here in Denver and includes a run up to the town of Fairplay leaving at 10:00 AM, where the hundreds of riders take over the town for a weekend of bike related fun and events. The Ladies Run donates a portion of their proceeds to Project Safeguard to assist in fighting domestic violence. We thank them for their support.

This year the 80th annual celebration begins on Thursday, August 07, 2008 and continues for 11 days, through Sunday, August 17, 2008. Festival Day, which includes the Children's Parade, the Grand Parade and the 49th annual Arts & Crafts Fair, will be Saturday, August 16, 2008.

Western Welcome Week, Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)(3) organization, dedicated to carrying on the tradition of greater Littleton-yesterday, today and tomorrow-with the annual Western Welcome Week celebration.

Volunteerism and support from the business community make Western Welcome Week a success year after year.
